Research On County Economic Development In Poor Counties In Shanxi Province

In this paper, we investigate the economic development of the poverty-stricken counties of Shanxi province. The research questions of this paper mainly include two partitions:first is the Evaluation of the poverty-stricken counties economy and second is the efficiency model of economic development of these poor counties. We have studied on plenty of related works in China and other countries of the world, and we as well investigate by really going to one county named as "xi xian" of Shanxi. In this way, we put forward two answers in correspondent with the two research questions.We proposed to combine the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method based on the <Evaluation method of Shanxi counties economic development issued by the Shan xi Government. DEA method could produce an objective and correct evaluation results by the indexes of the <Evaluation method>. Secondly, we have investigated the development model as "one business in one county, and one product in one village". The Xi xian government has largely applied this model in the whole county and it proved that this model could really promote the economy development of the county, so that this model is effective, and could be also widely applied to other poor counties in Shanxi Province.
