Investment bank is the product of economic development; it is developed with the capital market and the formation of the important subject of mediation. In the capital market, investment banks are investors and financing is an important link, so as to make the configuration of social resources effectively. With the rise of direct financing capital market in our country, our country commercial bank credit provided by the service can no longer meet the financing needs of many enterprises. The impact of the change in the face of such market, China’s commercial Banks how to continue to be a major financial institutions has become an important strategic issue in the development of commercial Banks.At the same time, with the opening of China’s policies and regulations, many commercial Banks began to carry out investment banking business to solve the problem now facing strategic development. For the slow development bottleneck of facing transformation of city commercial Banks, especially the intermediary business difficult to breakthrough business variety, low technical content, less income means a single city commercial Banks, on the basis of a policy support, centralized superior resources, to carry out investment banking business as quickly as possible is the urgent and necessary choice.This paper taking an example of H city commercial bank which based on head office registered in Hunan province. This paper study the city commercial Banks to develop investment bank business development strategy use the SWOT analysis method based on the analysis the investment banking business experience and lessons of domestic and foreign commercial banks. We determine the diversified growth overall strategy and the market diversification growth in Hunan area concentrated competitive strategy. The general functions of H bank investment bank business strategy are analyzed in order to support the implementation of the overall strategy and competition strategy. At the end of this paper, we put forward the development strategy of the implementation of the security from the management concept, organization structure, business varieties and service mechanism.
