Study On Evaluating The Logistics Efficiency Of The Middle Yangtze River Economic Belt

With the accelerating process of globalization, the logistics industry, a basic industry of national economy,has made a increasing significant contribution to the economic growth.Meanwhile,regional layout has become the inevitable trend of logistics advancing.Regional Logistics,a vital industry to coupling inter-regional productive consumption and enhancing economic efficiency,is a pivotal part of the regional economy,playing an important role in promoting the coordinated development and regional economic integration. The development level of the logistics industry is directly reflected in the logistics efficiency.Efficiency increasing is an essential support of sustainable development of the logistics industry.Middle Yangtze River Economic Belt is located in geomatric center of mainland China,with important strategic position and unique advantage of developing logistics industry in terms of the level of economic growth, traffic conditions and integrated resources,as well as policy environment under the global background of opening up Yangtze River economies and promoting the rise of central China.These make the region’s logistics industry possess excellent growth prospects. Regional logistics efficiency will have a positive effect on the regional and national economic development. Therefore, it is very important to research the Middle Yangtze River Economic Belt’s efficiency of logistics.In recent years, the academic study of regional logistics efficiency continues to heat up, but most only stay at the theoretical level,lacking of quantitative research and theoretical analysis and empirical test to the factors of logistics efficiency. In particular,the discuss on the logistics efficiency of the Middle Yangtze River Economic Belt and its influencing factors are desperately scarce.In view of this, this paper attempts to study the logistics efficiency of the Middle Yangtze River Economic Belt.Based on the related theories of regional logistics efficiency and its evaluation method. this paper makes a deep analysis on the current situation of logistics industry in Middle Yangtze River Economic Belt. Then,we will build the DEA model,choose the appropriate index system,and evaluate the logistics efficiency of the region.Based on this, we choose the four basic factors affecting the logistics efficiency of the Middle Yangtze River Economic Belt as variables:the level of economic development,the industrial structure,logistics location superiority and the level of logistics information.After that we will establish Tobin regression model to analyze the correlation between each factor and logistics efficiency.Finally, according to the analysis of logistics efficiency in Middle Yangtze River Economic Belt and the empirical result,we summary the main reason for the low efficiency of regional logistics industry and give the following suggestions,which can increase the logistics efficiency and provide a reference for the development of logistics in the region: accelerate the reform of the logistics management system, improve the logistics infrastructure, optimize the structure of logistics industry,enhance the pure technical efficiency and innovate the training mode of logistics talents.
