Analysis Of The Effect Factors Of Resident Satisfaction Of Shanty Towns Transformation And The Countermeasure Research Of Tianshan District In Urumqi

This study contributes to an understanding of influencing factors affecting the transformation of shanty dwellers in Urumqi city. Combined with the current situation of the shanty towns transformation, we studied the satisfaction degree of residents in terms of the shantytowns transformation based on our large sample questionnaire survey data. Then we provided the decision-making reference for Urumqi city shanty towns transformation, in order to promote the development of new urbanization.This study was based on relevant theoretical basis, this paper expounded the construction situation, the transformation performance, the compensation mode, and the main challenges existing in the process of the shanty towns transformation in the city of Urumqi. Our large questionnaire survey was conducted in the Heping South Road in the Tianshan District. The main factors affecting the satisfaction of residents about the transformation of shanty dwellers were uncovered through questionnaires, site visits, interviews and other forms of residents depth analysis. Based on the analytic hierarchy process and principal component analysis of statistical theory, our results showed that: the results showed that: the living environment, residents conditions, policy knowledge as well as the compensation and resettlement policy are the important factors influencing residents’ satisfaction about the shanty towns transformation in the city of Urumqi. Furthermore, the compensation and resettlement policies posed on a great effect on the residents’ satisfaction, mainly because of a large number of undocumented and illegal buildings existing within the scope of shanty towns in Urumqi, and the understanding and support of compensation and resettlement policies is not enough, as well as the presence of asymmetry information between residents and government, and lack of effective communication. Future, compensatory measures should be strengthened to further improve and strengthen effective communication between the residents and government in order to promote shantytowns work smoothly.
