| Urumqi is the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and the political, economic and cultural center where the population expansion and automobile booming are becoming an increasingly significant issue. For promoting transportation security and reducing maintenance costs, based on The Technical Specification for the Urban Road Maintenance (CJJ36-2006), under the guidance for the selection of 4 indicators (pavement damage, flatness, structural strength and anti-sliding performance), monomial assessment of the four indicators respectively was conducted in this thesis. Meanwhile, a comprehensive assessment using PQI=T* RQI* Wi+PCI* W2 model for road surface quality was conducted too, as well as the impacts of road traffic upon the environment were discussed. The results shown that, among 70 main roads in Urumqi City 2% assesses as excellent,53% as good,31% as qualified, and 14% as unqualified. Accordingly, a set of maintenance countermeasures and countermeasures for prevention the environmental impact have been proposed in this thesis. Such main road performance assessment is strategically significant for facilitating the road traffic management toward a scientific and standardized dimension. |
