The development of a company will experience different period, but not every company could access to next stage safely. In order to realize a long-term development, entrepreneurs are considered to have the ability to conduct the appropriate and rational leadership strategy to manage companies. Under this circumstance, there search proposes to entrepreneurs a series of strategies in paternalistic leadership based on enterprise life cycle.Both domestic and foreign researchers have conducted a lot of researches on growth of enterprises and draw an enterprise life cycle theory, this theory tell us that companies will present characteristics of the development process when they are in different life cycle. So business leaders need to consider their company’s development and the challenges to choose their own development path which associated with management strategy accordingly.Researchers also have found sorts of results in paternalistic leadership. It is widely believed that authoritarian leadership, benevolent leadership and moral leadership are three dimensions of the paternalistic leadership. These approaches can manage the organization, team members and staff effectively, can help business managers not only avoid using existing resources and solve management problems at the right time, but also achieve business goals or management objectives. So, how to choose paternalistic leadership? For those companies which in different life cycle stages, what should leaders consider?The first chapter of this paper presents the research background, research of theoretical and practical significance, contents and methods, as well as the innovation points in research; The second chapter analysis and summarize the existing research results; The third chapter choose Foxconn Group and its leader Terry Gou as an example, through typical management events to show his paternalistic leadership behavior; The fourth chapter in view of the case which shows in the preceding chapter, according to the enterprise management characteristics of different stages, analysis the paternalistic leadership behavior of Terry Gou, summarize Foxconn paternalistic leadership strategies in different stage of development; the fifth chapter draw are search conclusion, explain the relationship between the enterprise life cycle and paternalistic leadership behavior, as well as pointed out the study limitations and future research directions.Through the research and exploration of this paper, the theory of the current research result will be expanded, and the results of research reveal that the relationship between the three dimensions of paternalistic leadership and enterprise life cycle, and then achieve the business goals and management objectives of the enterprise, extend the life of the enterprise.
