Turpan is an oasis in the northwest China where is an arid region. Turpan is the typical representative of humanistic culture and the tradition in western, the natural ecological environment as well as the oasis agriculture. In recent years, with the implementation of“Development of the Western Region Strategy”, and with the promotion of the ‘’New Silk Route’’ to economy, turpan has witnessed the rapid development of both social and economic aspects. Meanwhile, the process of urbanization in Turpan has gradually promoted faster than before. However, the development of society and economy leads to some problems for the ecological environment in Turpan where the ecological environment is thought to be fragile. Thus, the development can provide certain damage of the ecological environment. During the process of the subject group’s researching on Turpan region, the members in groups have directly observed the destruction by the urbanization in the fragile ecological environment in Turpan. Based on the theory of Nassem Curve and Environmental Kuznets Curve, we can safely conclude that the development of urbanization can influence the ecological environment periodically. Moreover, urbanization can interact with ecological environment during its development. Thus it can be concluded that ecological environment plays a vital role in the development of urbanization. At present, the study on the relationship between urbanization and ecological environment in Turpan is of great significance to the Turpan’s harmonious development.This thesis is focused on the interaction between urbanization and ecological environment with both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Aimed at the systematic and scientific analysis, the thirteen years development condition of the urbanization and ecological environment is used as the research data to explore the interaction between the urbanization and ecological environment. Calculated and analysed urbanization development level, ecological environment development level, urbanization and eco-environment coupling coordination level during 2000-2012 in Turpan area, and analysed the interaction coupling of urbanization and ecological environment situation in Turpan, analysed during the 13 years two rate system development trends from 2000 to 2012. Structured the representation of turpan each subsystem of urbanization and ecological environment coordinated development of system coupling system flow model.At the same time, using the Stella software to selected corresponding indicators for each subsystem simulation prediction, simulation step for 23 years, output region in 2013-2025 index of subsystem’s future development. Looking for Turpan area urbanization and ecological environment coordinated development pattern, and suitable for the development of countermeasures. The results are as follows,1. Turpan subsystems are presents ascendant trend in the development of urbanization, among them, economic subsystem has been developing rapidly, which is the main driving force of social and economic development in;Turpan region ecological environment present a tortuous development state of each subsystem, among them, the ecological environment pressure is greater than the other two subsystems.2. The couple degree of the urbanization and eco-environment in Turpan is developing volatile. During 2000-2012, the 13 years of urbanization and ecological environment basic belongs to the antagonism stage coupling phase. The coupling coordination degree in the development, by the lag of urbanization into ecological environment lag.3. Simulation to predict the future Turpan region urbanization of population, economy, space system is in a state of development on the rise, the number of students in the education system in the declining trend. Ecological environment system continued to decline, the coupling of the two was also increasing.
