In recent years, with the increasing internal transport problems in big cities, metro, as a large-capacity public transport system, is becoming the main choice to solve urban traffic demand. Research of subway construction has received increasingly attention. There is little research to the threshold index standards of subway construction, but it is the threshold standards of subway construction that is related to many cities whether can build subways. In that context, the paper selects cities of the first subway construction since 2005 as the following sample, chooses correlative indexes, analyzes the validity of china’s urban subway construction threshold index and the impact of urban subway construction on the urban municipal districts economic growth in China by factor analysis and panel data model from setting out wholly and proposes some corresponding countermeasures according to the result from data analysis.First of all, proceed from current situation to the development background and policy circumstance of China urban subway and the overseas and domestic research status related to urban subway, the paper sets forth briefly basic theory of urban subway development and the economy, and then introduces factor analysis and panel data model that will be used in the following pages.Secondly, based on the introduction of the urban subway development history and actuality of the world and China, in order to analyze the validity of the existing china’s urban subway construction threshold index, the arithmetic mean value and the other descriptive statistics indexes are using to measure the central tendency and discrete tendency of the existing china’s urban subway construction threshold index. After establishing subway construction impact factors set, the new subway construction threshold indexes are selected by applying factor analysis method and the referential values are presented to improve the validity of the china’s urban subway construction threshold index.Thirdly, based on the relation of subway construction and economic benefits, the paper selects panel data, introduces the dummy variable of subway construction into the Cobb-Douglas function model of the urban economi c growth, analyzes the impact of china’s urban subway construction on the urban municipal districts economic growth and draws a result that the effect of subway construction on the urban municipal districts economic growth is not significant.Finally, based on the empirical study results analysis and starting with the city as a whole or itself, the paper presents the corresponding policy recommendations on modifing subway construction threshold index in macroscopic view, using subway construction threshold standards according to local conditions and attaching great importance to the external economy of the subway construction.
