At present, the governments set more and more store by the platform economy. Numerous cities spare no efforts to cultivate and develop platform economy as a powerful measure to push forward the local economic development and to ameliorate industrial structure. Facing the oncoming economy transition in the "Twelfth Five-year Blueprint",expanding platforms for economic development has become an inevitable choice for centre city to adjust the economic structure and accelerate the economic transformation, as well as to construct a modern city industrial system.Firstly, the domestic and foreign researches on platform economy are introduced in detail, including the definition on economic platform, the corresponding theoretical basis for the the research status at home and abroad.By carding the necessity and current situation of the economy platform in the center of city, and exploring the process of economic development in the platform, the practical significance in development of economic platform in the downtown of city is highlighted with detailed cases analyses of favorable factors for the development of platform in economic center city as well existing problems, such as talents, capital and other insuffient supplies elements etc. Thirdly, comprehensively analysed the development opportunities for domestic economic platform with Jiangdong District of Ningbo city as an example, some suggestions on path choose are proposed for the Jiangdong region, such as setting a benchmark, investment promotion, innovation mode, diversified development, clusters development etc. We are confident that with several years of efforts, a relatively perfect ecological system for economic platform in Jiangdong district can be formed and which can be the model in Ningbo municipality and in Zhejiang province. Finally, the development path for platform economy Jiangdong District is put forward with countermeasures to settle key restriction factors in city center in the process of economic development platform, which can provide reference for other area as well.
