A Study Of Export Competitiveness Of Textile And Garment In Guangdong

Guangdong is a productive province in textile and clothing, and the textile industry is in the pillar position in Guangdong’s export trade. With the new trend of global textile and clothing trade, Guangdong’s textile and clothing industry will meet great opportunity, and more extensive and furious competition. In the new situation,how to keep and upgrade export competitiveness not only has the relation with Guangdong province, but also with the duration and steady development of our country’s textile and clothing industry. So, the study of the export competitiveness’ s actuality status, main influential factors and relevant countermeasure has practical meaning and academic value.The quantitative analysis of this paper begins with the selection of common indexes that are used to evaluate export competitiveness and simple description of measuring method, and then these indexes are measured step by step with recent year’s statistics. The indexes of Guangdong province are compared with the domestic main export provinces.The results showed that the textile and garment export competitiveness of Guangdong has advantages, but have a certain gap with Zhejiang, Jiangsu province.And foreign demand factors, wages, exchange rates, the foreign direct investment has a certain impact in textile and garment export competitiveness of Guangdong.Based on the above analysis, I believe, to improve the competitiveness of Guangdong textile and garment industry, we must attach importance to the development of knowledge resources, promote industry cluster innovation, develop diversified markets and increase the importance of innovation, in addition, to increase efforts to support the government also played an underestimated role.
