Since the disadvantage in terms of financing, solvency, capital operation and management system, the SME are more susceptible to a variety of uncertainties in the face of market volatility and financial crises, thereby causing a certain degree of deviation within the companies’ financial benefits and the expected return. Therefore, how to handle SMEs’ financial risk uncertainties effectively and accurately, strengthen the financial risk assessment and control is a serious problem. Based on this, this article will lead intuitionistic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process into financial risk assessment for SMEs, establish the SMEs financial risk evaluation model in view of intuitionistic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, this paper describes the interrelated background and studies of the present status of SME and their financial risks, analyzes the operating characteristics of SME in China. Secondly, it explains the origin and causes of SME financial risk according to the financial status of the SME, and establishes a financial risk evaluation indexes system for SME. Then, it establishes financial risk assessment model of the company X based on intuitionistic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process combined with intuitionistic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and financial risk evaluation indexes system of SME. Combined with the data of financial risk evaluation indexes of in the year of 2014, the financial status of company X is evaluated. Finally, it proposed the rationalization proposals to strengthen the SME risk assessment and control according to the evaluation.
