It is an important role that new ventures are playing in the economic and social development. In reality, most new ventures are established by entrepreneurial teams composed of two or more partners. At the beginning of entrepreneurial teams’ formation, the interpersonal trust is almost full. However, with the expansion of new ventures, sometimes some problems occur in entrepreneurial teams, such as free riding, groupthink, social loafing, and so on. Over time, the interpersonal trust among a entrepreneurial team’s members may be damaged. When the level of interpersonal trust among members that belong to an entrepreneurial team is decline, the willingness of cooperation with each other will be reduced, the communications will be decreased, the quantity and quality of knowledge sharing will be influenced. These effects will lead the degradation of entrepreneurship of entrepreneurial teams and the recession of performances of new ventures.Combining entrepreneurship and organizational behavior, this paper aims to clarify the specific mechanism of the effects of interpersonal trust damage in entrepreneurial team on performance of new venture, and an intermediary role of entrepreneurship of entrepreneurial team. Firstly, this paper puts forward a series of hypotheses through the domestic and foreign literature reviews. Secondly, based on a field investigation, using valid questionnaires filled in by 213 members from 186 entrepreneurial teams, this paper verifies the theoretical hypotheses. Finally, we give the enlightenments for management practices. This paper puts forward some findings:(1)the interpersonal trust damage in entrepreneurial team can be divided into the following two independent dimensions: discredibility and malevolence, these two dimensions all have significant negative effects on performance of new venture;(2)discredibility has significant negative effects on collective innovation and sharing risks, but the negative effects on collaboration and initiative are not significant;(3)malevolence has significant negative effects on collective innovation, collaboration and initiative and sharing risks;(4)collective innovation, collaboration and initiative and sharing risks both have significant positive effects on performance of new venture;(5)collective innovation contributes a partial intermediary role between discredibility, malevolence and performance of new venture;(6)collaboration and initiative contributes a partial intermediary role between malevolence and performance of new venture, but does not contribute a intermediary role between discredibility and performance of new venture;(7)sharing risks contributes a partial intermediary role between discredibility, malevolence and performance of new venture.
