Research On The Extension Of Retirement Problems About Current Urban Workers In China

The current regulation of legal retirement age in China can date from 1950 s, which does not have any changes in essence for more than sixty years. The economic and social development in China have been changed greatly, people’s living standards have continued to improve and the population also has increased over thirty years of reforming and opening up.Facing these dramatic changes, the inherent defects and shortcomings of our current retirement system are quickly exposed, current retirement system can not adopt the developments and changes of the era. How to deal with the social problems brought by the aging of population and maintain the sustainable development of our economy and society is an urgent problem which China faced. Therefore, it is necessary to unfold systematical study on the extension of retirement problems about urban workers in China.In this paper, retirement age problems of current urban workers in China were further studied from the perspective of historical development and international reference. First of all,the formulation and evolution of the current retirement system were introduced, and the problems and argues of the current retirement age system in our country were analyzed in this paper. Secondly, this paper focused on the influencing factors of extending legal retirement age in China. Next, according to the research results of western developed countries, this paper summed up the useful experience and inspirations that we can use for reference, through the comparison and analysis of the retirement age reform in Sweden, America and France. Finally,combining with the specific national conditions of our country, the adjustment of retirement age was put up on the principles we should obey and political suggestions we should adopt,including formulating the combination of flexibility and voluntary retirement system,developing differentiation policies for different groups, putting the incentive and punitive compatibility of pension payment mechanism into practice, setting up the minimum working age and so on.
