Reference The International Experience Of Extendingour Retirement Age

China is experiencing the largest and fastest developing aging process.“Old beforegetting rich” has become a significant feature of our aging population. Recently theproblems ofextension retirement age have caused extensive concern of social public,especially when the relevant departments put forward the viewpoint “gradually extend ofthe retirement age” in the eighth plenary meeting, which makes the controversial issue intoreality. This article completely analyzes the contradiction between the current arrangementsand the present condition in China, and discusses the feasibility of extending retirement ageon the basis of foreign experience.The article initially introduces reasons of extension retirement age, andthe study of theretirement age at home and abroad. Taking an overview of domestic andforeign scholars’suggestions, this paper points that how to choose the best time for reform,then extension theretirement age is the academic mainstreamviewpoint. In view of this, the article presents thecurrent situation of China’s retirement age, and analyzes the necessity of extendingretirement age, it describes positive and negative effects caused by the extension ofretirement age, as well as benefits brought to stakeholders, and analyzes the feasibility ofextending retirement age. Then it recommends many countries’ policies, and introduces“flexible retirement system” of US and France in detail use the method of comparativeanalysis. In the end of this paper, the detailed implement scheme is proposed,flexibleretirement system is the optimal selection in our country.
