With the global division deepening and the Service industry promotion, China has become the global manufacturing base rapidly due to the abundant labor resources. Meanwhile, a new electronic manufacturing service industry has emerged. Electronic manufacturing service is series of Service Manufacturing Supplier which provides Manufacturing, Purchasing, Partial Design and Logistic Service. Comparing with the traditional production service which only provides the product design and manufacturing, the Electronic Manufacturing Service suppliers provide Knowledge and Management Service, such as the Material Management, Service Transportation and even the Product Maintenance Service. For the international famous EMS, there are several branded companies, such as Foxconn, Flextronics, Jabil, Celestica, SANMINA-SCI and Wistron. Jabil ranked the 3rd in this industry.Although our Manufactured Electronic Products output and exporting amount is huge, it’s value-added and profit is quite low, we are still in the bottom of the global supply chain. Meanwhile, China EMS’s low profit is also impacted with Global Economic slowing-down, exchange rate fluctuates and the other Southeast Asian countries’ manufacturing growing up. Many EMS companies set the new factory in India, Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries, and also transfer the factory from China to there.Meanwhile, comparing with the former generation electronic products, the current generation electronic product life cycle is much shorter, updated speed is much quicker. Product’s life cycle reduces from the former 50 months to the current 12~18 months. Missing one generation may loss the whole industry, or even go to bankrupt. Therefore, how to introduce the new project plays a critical role to the companies. New Product means the future of the company. How to introduce the new product has become part of the Company’s strategy.With the development of the whole EMS industry, this thesis provide some improvement proposal with the foreign and domestic Project Management knowledge, and also target to increase the core competence through the practicing. This thesis is consisted of 4 chapters. The 1st chapter analyzes the overall EMS industry, the significance of the studying, the foreign and domestic Project Management development and appraisal, and also advocates the major thesis frame and content. Meanwhile, it also introduces some relevant theory and knowledge, such as Project Management and New Project Introduction knowledge system. For the Project Management, it introduces the definition of project, its characteristics and classification, characteristics of product life cycle and each stage. New product introduction knowledge system mainly discusses the definition of new products, the management mode of projects of new product introduction, new product introduction process and project management. The 2nd chapter, it demonstrates the current status and major issues from the perspective of the Initiating, Planning, Execution, Controlling and Closing. The 3rd chapter, it analyzes the 4 major factors of the time, cost, quality and management method. The 4th chapter, it proposes the improvement solution for the scheduling, cost, quality and management method.
