The staff turnover rate of the hotel industry has been the top one among all industries. Controlling staff turnover rate is a difficult problem for the management of hotel human resources. As a labor-intensive and emotion-intensive industry, the biggest asset of hotels is "human beings". Only by ensuring a relatively stable staff team could hotels provide high-quality services and save the cost of resources.In order to control the turnover rate of hotel staff within normal limits and make a profound research on the serious turnover of domestic chain hotels, based on the existing theories of human resources and staff turnover, this thesis collected the characteristics of staff turnover of M Hotel in recent years and surveyed Hainan M Chain Hotel by means of interviews and questionnaires. Besides, from the survey of employees’ satisfaction, it figured out several factors that led to employees’ dissatisfaction. Furthermore, it analyzed the causes of employees’ dissatisfaction and revealed the profound reasons for the staff turnover of M Hotel.Based on summarizing the reasons for the staff turnover of M Hotel, this paper held that in order to control staff turnover within normal limits, the hotel should formulate a "people-oriented" management scheme and above all, concentrate its effort on "perfecting retention mechanism" and "perfecting incentive mechanism" so as to retain the hotel staff psychologically.This thesis has the following practical implications.Firstly, it is conducive to the sustainable development of the hotel. Improving "retention mechanism" and "incentive mechanism" could help the hotel retain talents and maintain the stability of the staff team. A stable staff team could help maintain the service quality of hotels and boost customer satisfaction.Secondly, it is conducive to retaining core staff. That the hotel perfects its own mechanisms and boosts customer satisfaction could retain core staff and reduce the cost of brain drain.
