Studies On The Employment Of Peasant Workers In Henan Province Under The Urbanization Process

Employment has a vital bearing on the people`s li veli hood. B y the end of the year 2011, there are 6.234 mi l ion people are rural population among the 104.89 million people in Henan Provi nce, and the employment of peasant workers are come up to 2.548 million. The esse nce of “three dimensional rural issue” is the employment of peasant workers. And the other problem of peasant workers is the deri vation of the employment problems. So, the solution of the employment of peasant workers problems is playi ng an important role in the development of economics and society of Henan Province.As the development of urbanization process, the academia and government has gradually pay attention on problems of the employment of peasant workers. The government has put forward a series of policy to protect the benefits and rights of peasant workers. As for the satisfactory, employment, values, social insurance and employment ability, various scholars have conduct many researches. But there are less researches concern the employment of peasant workers i n Henan Provi nce. This paper uses the method of both quantitative study and the qualitati ve study. By using the quantitati ve study and field work first, we can get the reliable data. Through the induction and analysis on the data above, we can get a result that the reality of the employment of peasant workers under urbani zation process, and which can be a realistic basis of the cause and the solution analysis of this problem in China. And then, by the qualitati ve study, we can discard the dross and keep the finer part. After the i nduction and conclude, the essential and fundamental factors which i nfluence the employment of peasant workers i n urban have gradually showed.On the basis of the former research achievements and the reality of Henan Province, the paper conducts an analysis on the issues of the employment of peasant workers and discusses operability solutions. It has four parts:First part,the relevance theories and research literatures of the employment of peasant workers and urbani zation. This part interprets the concept of the peasant workers and urbani zation and the theory of employment tease the former scholars` research achievements about this issue and conduct relevance literature review.Part two, Mechanism of Urbani zation affec ting the employment of peasant workers mai nly i ncludes two aspects: one is the positive mechanism including the effect of population agglomeration, i ndustrial st ructure, Central Henan Urban Agglomeration and government-oriented effects; the second is the reverse mechanism, including the effect of marginalization of the city, urban diseases effect, the effect of industrial technology.Part three,the mechanism analysis of urbanization present situation, the employment of peasant workers present situation and influence factors in Henan Province. According to the statistical data, the paper analysis the present situation of urbanization and the employment of peasant workers.Part four,analysis on the issues and i nfluence factors of the employment of peasant workers i n Henan Province under urbani zation process. B y using the field work data, the paper analysis the issues exist i n the employment of peasant workers: lower levels, less approaches, information asymmetry, lack of benefits, and contradictory between i ncome and consumption. And the influence factors i nclude: educational level, household registration system and social environment.Part fi ve, policy and advice to solute the issues of the employment of peasant workers. Combine the issues in part three, this paper put forward policy suggestion as followi ng: strengthen the system guarantee, promote the system of residence permit, perfect the society i nsurance, improve the environment of employment, labor market and enterprise of peasant workers, and strengthen their own competence.
