| "High-tech industries" is recently becoming a critical industry for developing national economy and accelerating social development. "Industry cluster", as an important economic and social phenomenon, has become the forefront of scientific research. How to carry out innovative ideas and realize transformation development is a critical problem towards Shanghai, which represents the center of China economic development and a science & creation center. Through the research against the development of hi-tech industry cluster, this paper discusses its possibility to become new growth point for shanghai economy, how it play a role in promoting economy, and the combined effects in terms of realizing laborer benefits, increasing business efficiency and booming government profits Therefore, this research has great practical value.In order to study the relationship between high-tech industry cluster and Shanghai economic growth, based on the regional high-tech industry development condition and its formation characteristics, this paper tries to find a solution for research questions from the points of industrial scale, agglomeration degree, income and R&D expenditure by some particular methods. These methods include the calculation on regional high-tech industry agglomeration degree, analysis through the relevant factors of economic development and industrial cluster related indicators, such as total industry output, cluster degree.This paper mainly consists of four parts:The first part, referring to the topic of "research on high-tech industry promoting Shanghai economic growth", make an introduction for the research background and meanings, research methods and contents firstly. Then define the concept of high-tech industries and industrial cluster. After that, besides of collecting the former high-tech industry cluster research, inducting and reorganizing these theoretical study and research progress from both domestic and overseas researchers.The second part, from the angle of dominant industry drives high-tech industry cluster, the operation mechanism of the high-tech industry cluster was analyzed. On the other hand, analyze the active effect of high-tech industry cluster on the basis of three aspects, which include the generation of external economic effects, saving transaction costs and continuous innovation ability. Meanwhile, the negative aspects of high-tech industrial cluster were also disclosed so as to rising up the accuracy of risk preventing and counter-measures taking.The third part, after explaining the current hi-tech industry development and clustering situation under the real condition in Shanghai, make empirical analysis about how high-tech industry cluster promoting Shanghai’s economic growth. This part not only acknowledges the effects of Shanghai high-tech industrial cluster on economic growth, but also shows out its influence degree.The fourth part, get conclusion based on the results of the empirical analysis, and then make proposals on how shanghai hi-tech industry could promote economic growth.The research shows, as one of the pioneering cities to form hi-tech industry cluster in China. The external economic effects, lower trading costs and continuous innovation effects which are generated by hi-tech industry cluster could indeed play a role in facilitating regional economy. Although the industry cluster degree has been decreased from 1999 to 2013, the contribution to the Second Industry is still distinguished. Meanwhile, the related cluster indicator of creative ability has great effects on average production output. Shanghai high-tech industry cluster keeps on generating benefits on economy. Therefore, we cannot focus on the cluster degree alone during the development of hi-tech industry. Instead, we shall pay more attention on sustained hi-tech industry development and maximized cluster effects so as to avoiding risks and promoting economy. |
