Entering the 21st century, human society has entered into an era of knowledge economy, knowledge is gradually replacing traditional production elements such as capital, labor, land, and become the most main enterprise and social resources. Because of its implicitness, it is difficult for tacit knowledge to be encoded and learned, which makes it the most wealth for personal and corporate. And it is the critical resources to cultivate enterprise’s core competence, enhance competitive advantage, and develop the technology innovation ability. As a typical knowledge-intensive enterprise, construction companies’core knowledge and productivity are concentrated in each project. Therefore, it is significant to know how to extract and save the tacit knowledge of projects in order to maintain and improve the core competitiveness of construction enterprises.Based on the theory of knowledge transfer, this article studied the process of tacit knowledge transfer from construction projects to enterprises. After a throughout review of current literatures, the author identified influencing factors like the transfer methods and coding of tacit knowledge and communication within the organization, constructed the conceptual model and proposed several hypothesis to describe the relationship among these factors and knowledge transfer performance. In the end, quantitative analysis was conducted to test the hypothesis using structural equation model and practical suggestions were proposed to guide the knowledge transfer process. This paper came to some conclusions as the followings:The projects review and post-evaluation, the project presentation, training, and information management system have positive impact on tacit knowledge transfer by promoting the coding of tacit knowledge and the communication between knowledge transfer partners; Job promotion doesn’t have any significant influence on tacit knowledge transfer. Besides, among those four tacit knowledge transfer methods, the incidence of tacit knowledge transfer performance from big to small in turn is the training,the projects review and post-evaluation, information management system and the project presentation.
