Nowadays the small and medium enterprises(SMEs) are very important for the national economic and social development in our country. The number of small and medium enterprises account for more than 99 percent of the total number of enterprises in our country. The contribution from SMEs to the GDP in China is more than 60%. At the same time, the SMEs provide more than 80 percent of job opportunities in cities and towns in China. The development of SMEs directly influences the development level of the entire national economy.With the continuous development of market economy in our country, the competition of human resources has become more and more intense, and human resource has become the key factor for enterprises’ development. Whether enterprise can successfully establish and implement reasonable and effective motivation mechanism, to maximize the marginal efforts of staff, has become the key factor for enterprise to keep continuous development and win the competition.However, at present the human resource management situation in the SMEs in our country is not optimistic, frequent job-hopping is a common phenomenon. This situation caused that the stability and innovation ability of organization are dragged down, severely restricted the development of enterprise. The reason is the lack of reasonable motivation mechanism for employees in SMEs. Therefore, how to establish effective and reasonable motivation mechanism, inspire the working enthusiasm of the staff becomes a very important topic for enterprises.Just like many small and medium enterprises, R company has the same issue about employees’ motivation mechanism. This thesis is based on the advanced worldwide motivation theory, and by several interview and questionnaire with some employees in R company, setting up a good understanding of the current motivation mechanism level in R company. Based on the motivation requirement analysis,and take the current situation in R company into account, give some advice to improve the motivation mechanism in this company, and to improve the human resource management level at the same time. The purpose is to make this company developing in a better way. Also, because there’re some typical issues about theemployees’ motivation mechanism with most other SMEs, I hope the conclusion and result from this thesis can be referred by some other SMEs in some level, to help them improve their employees’ motivation mechanism.This thesis can be divided into seven parts. The first part is the introduction;the main content is the background information, purpose of this paper, current research update and the content structure. The second part is the analysis of relevant theories, mainly for the theories of small and medium-sized enterprise and the related incentive mechanism. The third part is an introduction of R company,mainly about the basic information, company structure, department information and employees’ information. The fourth part is about the current employees’ motivation mechanism in R Company, and analyzing the existed issues about employees’ motivation mechanism in R company. The fifth part is the advice to improve the motivation mechanism in R company. Based on the current situation in R company and the relevant motivation theory, provides some advice for improving the motivation mechanism in R Company. The sixth part is about making the safeguards for the R company’s motivation mechanism, which is based on its real situation. The seventh part, which is the last part of this thesis, is the conclusion and expectation.
