Summer Resort Development Suitability Evaluation Based On Chongqing Main Urban Market

With the warmer climate year by year, Chongqing’s "stove type" climate becomes increasingly obvious, especially in Chongqing main urban areas, the summer is unbearably hot, people have intense demand for summer resort tourism, so Chongqing is one of the largest tourist source regions, and also a target market that summer tourism destinations all over the country compete for. However, Chongqing itself is a city converging many great mountains and rivers, possessing favourable climate and summer resort resources, with the inherent advantages of developing summer resort, but many people in Chongqing run away from Chongqing every summer, it has seriously affect the overall balance and healthy growth of Chongqing tourism. Therefore, the development of Chongqing summer resort, not only to meet the demand of the local tourism of Chongqing and rational and efficient use of tourism resources in Chongqing,is also a vital policy to successfully transform Chongqing’s label as tourists resoures for many years to a major tourist destination, but also It would be an effective way to promote economic growth of the mountain districts of Chongqing.This article studies effective evaluation ways of Chongqing summer resort destination development suitability, to provide some guidance and reference to fully understand and evaluate Chongqing summer resort developments for tourism-related authorities and personnel, on the basis of investigating summer resort preferences of Chongqing people, draws on tourism location theory, tourism behavior theory, regional differentiation theory, systematic theory and relevant theories as well as some papers about tourism suitability evaluation, compresively makes use of the Delphi method,AHP, weighted summation and other methods to construct the suitability evaluation system for summer tourist destination, and each index and influencing factors were analyzed quantitatively, to get the following conclusions:(1) determine the climate comfort degree(temperature, precipitation, wind speed),tourism location(resource location, traffic location, market location), tourism resources(resource combinations, resource reputation, resource quality level), tourismenvironment(living environment, green coverage, the visual quality of the landscape,the environment capacity), site conditions(topography, slope, slope aspect, the degree of policy support), facilities(traffic conditions, reception capacity, municipal facilities),travel safety(emergency response capacity, incidence of natural disasters, tourism public event rate) and the tourist source markets(summer travel demand degree, tourist satisfaction level), totally 8 indicators with 25 factors are regarded as evaluation indicators and influencing factors of summer resort destination development suitability evaluation in Chongqing main urban market.(2) Constructed the structure model of summer resort destination development suitability evaluation and assessment, and identified index weights of 8 indicators and25 influencing factors.(3) Among the indicators of summer resort destination development suitability assessment on the basis of Chongqing main urban market, the top three indicators are climate comfort(0.35), tourism environment(0.21), tourism resources(0.18); the bottom three indicators are site conditions(0.05), tourist source markets suitability(0.04)and travel safety(0.03). Also, within each indicator obviously important influencing factors are temperature, quality of resources, quality of living environment, traffic conditions and summer resort demand degree factor.(4) To apply the summer resort destination development suitability evaluation system of this study to Shizhu summer resort suitability evaluation, after analysis through GIS location maps and elevation maps of tourism resources, selecting important summer resort destinations. After evaluation, the top three destinations suitable for the development of summer resort in Shizhu are Yellow Water Forest Park area and Lingshan Buddha scenic area, Northern Mountain tourist area, and the rest study objects are ranked as followed: Longevity Hill, Cold Water Town, Yuelai Town, Keel Village,Qianye Grassland, Qiyaoshan Geopark, Maple Town, Tengzigou Wetland Park, Yuchi Town, Ginkgo Hall.
