A Research On The Influence Of Trade Facilitation On China-Asean Agricultural Products Trade

Since agriculture is the traditional industry in China and most ASEAN countries, the trade of agricultural products has always been the main point of bilateral cooperation. From the implementation of the China-ASEAN "early harvest program" in 2004 to the establishment of China-ASEAN free trade area in 2010, the bilateral trade volume of agricultural products has grown rapidly. Since 2013, the relationship between China and ASEAN met the new development opportunity, trying to complete the transition from the "golden decade" to "diamond decade". Under the guidance of the "maritime silk road" in the 21st century, the two sides will further expand our scope of cooperation, reduce non-tariff barriers, promote trade and investment facilitation, and accelerate bilateral agricultural products trade increasing steadily.At first, this paper main introduces the development of China-ASEAN agricultural products trade and gives an overall introduction of China-ASEAN agricultural products trade. By establishing the trade facilitation index (which includes port infrastructure, import and export illegal payments and bribery, burden of customs procedures, trade barriers, information and communication technology development), this research analyzes the present situation of China-ASEAN trade facilitation and then expounds the importance of trade facilitation. At the same time, this study also put forward to the difficulties of further improving China-ASEAN agricultural products trade facilitation. The empirical part uses the gravity model to analyze the impact of trade facilitation on China-ASEAN agricultural products trade.The empirical results show that:the exporter burden of customs procedures, exporter of information and technology development, the exporter trade barriers have passed by significance test; exporters and the burden of customs procedures and exporter of information and technology development indexes have significant effect on promoting the development of China-ASEAN agricultural products trade. Besides, this paper set up the simulation scheme:assuming that CAFTA countries with low customs procedures burden and exporter of information and technology development index have reached the average, it is found that the simulation results of the export volume, the export growth amount and export growth rate changed obviously. Finally, according to the above research findings, this paper provides corresponding advice.
