Region as a carrier of the political, economic, social, cultural, ecological coordinated development, the various stakeholders in their own interests as a benchmark build self-interest sphere of influence. Inevitably there are overlapping areas, and blank areas......How to balance the scope of the various stakeholders, build regional Pareto optimal is academia to address the problem. In April 2015, "Urban agglomeration development plan in the middle reach of Yangtze River (2015-2030)" defined the scope of urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze River, ending the argument of "triangle" and the "four corners", which was the first time the national level given the urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze River. This provides a new opportunity for the takeoff of metropolitan area of the middle reaches of Yangtze River, which is necessary for us to explore the region deeper.Combining with the scoping study at the national level and market, this article selects the other stakeholders-public as an object of study, obtains its cognitive map, which provides a reference for constructing a reasonable range of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city group. In view of this, the metropolitan area of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River is selected as the research target, meanwhile the student in Wuhan, Changsha and Nanchang is selected as the respondents. In this way, we obtain the data containing personal attributes information and cognitive map. Firstly, the article overlays the students’ cognitive map of the metropolitan area of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, which is used to compare the difference between the three cities. Secondly, taking into account the difference of the cognitive map and "Urban agglomeration development plan in the middle reach of Yangtze River (2015-2030)" designating range, this paper constructs area deviation index and center deviation index to comment the difference of them. And finally, this paper adopts the logistic regression model to investigate the relevance of the personal attributes information and the cognitive bias. This study mainly has the following conclusions:(1) The spatial cognition of the university students in Wuhan forms different long axis and same short axis ellipse centering in Wuhan; the spatial cognition of the college students in Changsha forms Wuhan-Changsha cognitive sphere centered at the midpoint, and south trend is obvious; university students’ cognitive map in Nanchang is more messy, and there is no clear dividing line, with a clear trend offset the southeast coast. (2) The scope of students’cognitive map and "Urban agglomeration development plan in the middle reach of Yangtze River (2015-2030)" designating range is not the same. In general, students can be able to accurately along the Yangtze River outline the individual cognitive map. Comparing the three cities, the students in Wuhan, Changsha, represent better spatial awareness, planning and range from higher fit than Nanchang. (3) College students in the three cities on the spatial cognition of urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River is in Wuhan as the center, forming a "Wuhan+" cognitive pattern, which is certainly in Wuhan urban agglomeration at the same time, the area where the school into the middle reaches of the Yangtze River in the scope of urban agglomerations; cognition to the core area of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomerations is showing the cognitive pattern of "1+8+1+neighboring cities", namely "Wuhan Metropolitan Area +Jingzhou+Jiujiang, Yiyang, Yueyang or Xianning" (4)There is a certain relevance between personal property information and cognitive bias. The male students, or the city of residence, or geographic professional have higher cognitive level than the reference group; the longer residence time and higher cognitive level. But the "tagging" feature accounts weaken their impact on the rate of cognitive; as well as due to the metropolitan area of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River the presence of the phenomenon of migrant, the variable of source place of students doesn’t pass the inspection as the variable of dwelling time.
