Since the 1970s, China has been implementing a non-balanced development strategy, firstly open the coastal areas, contributing Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta city group’s rapid growth. And our country has implemented Western Development, the Revitalization of old industrial bases in Northeast China, central China and other regional development strategy, the central region also usher in a golden period of rapid development, the economy of City Group developed rapidly, but compared with the coastal cities and groups, the gap is very large. Therefore, the best way to promote the rise of Central China and enhance regional competitiveness is to promote the integration of the Yangtze River City Group.Under the new normal economic situation, China’s economy is facing the challenge of shifting from the high-speed growth to the middle-high speed growth, and the traditional mode of economic growth can not support the economical sustainable progress, the new economic growth point has not yet formed, the key that this country can spend the economic throes of transition smoothly is to find a new economic growth point, and promoting economic integration of urban agglomeration can collect the excellent resources, enhance the capability of independent innovation cities, and expanding the market, breaking the barriers of interest, playing the role of leading in the center of the city, so cultivating new economic growth pole.Viewing the global economic situation, economic globalization is the world’s important economic characteristics, also the future development of the world economy irresistible trend, economic globalization has made the advantages of resources in the global free-flowing, bring unprecedented opportunities for development in the world. The style of competition around the countries has gradually turned to the urban agglomerations economic strength, The only way to enhance international competitiveness is to promote urban cluster development which is in line with the trend of the world economy.In view of the above context, this article analyzed the middle reaches of theYangtze River City Group Economic Integration status through the combination of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, quantitative analysis predetermined analysis. This article is divided into six parts:The first part is an introduction. The main contents include the research background, significance, research status at home and abroad, research ideas and methods and the lack of research and innovation; the second part describes the theoretical basis of the relevant regional economic integration, including:the concept of urban agglomeration, regional economic integration the concept of division of labor, regional spatial structure theory, and the theory of regional cooperation and regional economic integration theory; the third part analyzes the development status of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city group, including:range division, before development; fourth part is the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city group economic integration the necessity and feasibility analysis, including:the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city group economic integration significance and advantageous conditions; the middle reaches of the Yangtze River the fifth part the level of economic integration of urban agglomeration measure analysis, including:index system, the level of market integration, administration the level of integration, infrastructure integration level and the level of social integration; the sixth part analyzes the plight of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city group economic integration face; the last part of the development strategy.
