Research On The Trade Facilitation Of Agricultural Products Between China And Japan

Trade facilitation aimed at creating a transparent and predictable environment for international trade, the content of which relates to simplify customs procedures, improve infrastructure, and institutional environment to enhance the popularity of e-commerce and other aspects. With the disappearance of the traditional tariff barriers, "non-trade efficiency" has become a major international trade barriers. So, by enhancing trade facilitation to deal with "non-trade efficiency" to promote the development of trade, has become the important problem in many country in recent years.China and Japan are close trade partners. However, agricultural trade between China and Japan is under certain obstacles because of trade facilitation issues, such as too high standards of inspection and quarantine, many protective policies, etc. Therefore, raising the level of agricultural products trade facilitation between China and Japan is the main way of promoting agricultural trade between China and Japan.The article first described the present situation and problems of agricultural products trade between China and Japan, then, analyzed trade facilitation process. And pointed out that there are problems existing in the process of trade facilitation between the two countries.Referencing herein index system of trade facilitation expert Liu Zhuguang (2014) to measure the level of trade facilitation, the article evaluated the level of Chinese and Japanese trade facilitation. Adding the trade facilitation index into the gravity model and using Least Squares to analyze the relationship between the volume of trade in agricultural products and the level of trade facilitation.The conclusion is that GDP of the importing country, the institutional environment, population and environment, customs of the exporting country, port efficiency can effectively increase the volume of trade in agricultural products.Confirmingthe conclusion that raising the level of trade facilitation can effectively promote the growth of agricultural trade between the two countries. For empirical results, providing made some recommendations to enhance China trade facilitation and promote agricultural trade between China and Japan.
