Studies suggest that gender equality can promote economic and social sustainable development of a national and regional. Rural women should have equal land rights as well as the man, it’s not only affect women’s own interests and family status, but also can influence the development of a family and rural society.This paper focuses on the land rights of rural women, and takes northern area of Ningxia as a sample area to explore the status of land rights and family status of women in rural areas. In addition to the statistical analysis describe, our study on the land rights of rural women mainly from point of view of the land ownership an individual women actually have to reveal the status of women’s land rights which covered in the family mean; secondly by women’s participation in the family decisions to better reflect their family status. After that, from the perspective of Property Right System Change to analyze factors affecting the rural women’s land right, and finally put forward corresponding countermeasures.This paper suggest that there is inequality in the interests of the rural land in terms of gender, gender significantly affect the rights of women’s land, due to changes of marital status, age also significantly affect the land rights of women. But the impact of women’s land rights on their family status is not obvious, the respondents perception of women’s rights deeply affected by Tradition. From the view of property right system change, we found that the formal institutions as well as informal system both weakened the rural women’s land rights, we need all parties make efforts to protect the women’s land rights.
