Study On The Countermeasures For Thailand-China Logistics Development

The economic cooperation and trade exchange between Thailand and China are apparently increasing within the ASEAN free trade and regional economic integration area. Since logistics becomes an obligatory part in the international trade, due to the regional economic integration, the logistics industries now have more opportunities to grow in Thailand and China’s markets. Thailand has an excellent geographical location for business, as it is located in the center of Southeast Asia and close to China. Thailand and China have a strong relationship in terms of culture, economy and trade. This offers the logistics in both countries excellent prospects for development.However, the development of Thailand and China bilateral logistics is challenged by numerous problems, mainly reflecting in three aspects:the construction and improvement of infrastructure, the coordination and cooperation of governments and the quality of businesses and talents. In terms of infrastructure, there is no connected logistics channel between Thailand and China and thus failed to established logistics information platforms. In terms of coordination and cooperation between governments, the governments of Thailand and China are limited to the levels of policies and principles and still a lack of coordination and cooperation in implementing these policies. In terms of businesses and talents, Thailand and China still have a low quality of logistics enterprises and talents.All of the above problems have seriously restricted Thailand-China logistics development. How to solve these problems and improve the efficiency of Thailand-China logistics development is the main objective of this research work.The thesis can be divided into three main parts:The first part:chapter one to chapter two introduced the thesis realistic backgro und, the main contents of thesis, the research method, the reviews of relevant literatu re, and the theoretical basis regarding the development of Thailand and China bilater al logistics.The second part:chapter three to chapter four analyzed the actual situation of the development of Thailand and China bilateral logistics. Chapter 3 explained Thailand’s logistics development situation including the problems of Thailand’s logistics development, and the development strategies of Thailand’s logistics. Chapter 4 explained the problems of the development of Thailand and China bilateral logistics:the factors which restrict the development of Thailand-China’s logistics including the Poor of logistics’infrastructure, the lack of government cooperation and logistics enterprises and talents.The third part:chapter five explained the countermeasures and suggestions of the development of Thailand and China bilateral logistics:Improve the supporting facilities to reduce logistics cost; Improve policies for innovating the logistics space efficiency; Improve the efficiency of enterprises and human resources for logistics managements.
