Shipping is one of the traditional transportation way which has a long history. It contains biggest volume and cheaper freight which adopt by most of shippers. And it is the most important way in international trading, in our country most of export and import cargo are transported by shipping method.Now the worldwide economics developed rapidly, shipping carriers are under sever competition, and recently the market competition changed to alliance strategy, CKYH, G6,2M & O3 are coming out and make mostly market share. From practice, shipping alliance do improve carriers capacity, utilization and save the cost. At this stage it should be an important strategy to survive the industrial depression.APL is one of the world’s leading ocean carriers, offers more than 80 weekly services and call ports in over 95 countries worldwide. She provide container transportation and value added supply chain management services through our international shipping network. While since the finance crisis around 2010, APL line have record continuous financial loss. To change the situation she joined the G6 alliance and run the shipping line with various patterns, with cost saving and utilization enhanced the EBIT has made improvement in 2014 finance period.The paper is focus on the shipping alliance strategy to discuss how it can improve the carrier productivity at current stage and how to make risk management within the alliance.
