Since the 2000, the "go global" strategy has become one of the major national development strategies in China. Implementation of such strategy made China International Contractors achieved remarkable results. Before expecting the bright future, the present situations shall not ignored: due to the difficulties in understanding the culture and languages of different countries, most China Contractors used to work domestically and not have serious consideration on the contract management and risk assessment. If those contractors indiscriminately contact an international project, they will never get what they want. The variation management as an important part of contract management, study and improvement of such variation management has a positive effect on the contract management. This paper, with a perspective of variation management of International EPC project and examples of L project executed by H company, analysis in depth the issues raised by execution of international EPC project and elaborate solutions of such problems by six aspects including concept of contract, document management, departmental management, subcontract management,handle before happening and improvement of personal skills. Through the study of variation management, hope this study could inspire the thinking on execution of International EPC project and provide a reference for Chinese enterprises that interested or already engaged in International EPC projects. |
