Research On Communication Satisfaction In Application Software Development Team

With the rapid development of the software industry and changes in technology,and the needs of an increasingly complex and diverse software personnel structure,the impacts of communication give a deep effect in development, implementation,management, etc. on application software development team. Domestic and international researches show that working passion, job satisfaction, job performance,organization commitment and turnover factors and other factors tend to form a positive correlation with communication state. Therefore, how to improve the communication satisfaction, increase employee motivation, improve software development capabilities, as well as lower turnover rate, so how to make communication as an effective tool for the managements of software companies, to provide more systematic management services for software companies, and moreover, enhance the software economic efficiency of enterprises, thus, the industry has been paid more and more concern and attention in it.In this study, we refer to Downs’ eight dimensions communication satisfaction measurement model. To study the impacts of communication of application software development team, and according to the actual situation of communication in software development, we adjust that model to become six dimensions model and in terms of features of software industry we add the seventh dimension "customer requirement communication" to it. Thereupon, this study established the seven dimensions communication satisfaction measurement model for application software development team. We take survey questionnaires with technicians or managers in V software company in Shenzhen, and collect the data to verify our model.We distributed a questionnaire to the team members of V company, and collected 121 valid questionnaires. Using the SPSS17.0 to analyze the relevant scale for the model, and to obtain the reliability and validity of the application software development team. Then, the discrimination and the correlation of the variables are obtained by the confirmatory factor analysis. We use multiple linear regression analysis to verify the communication satisfaction model, and summarize the research results of this paper.Study found that Personal feedback, Customer requirement communication,Communication between subordinates and supervisor, Communication climate,Media quality, Horizontal informal communication and Organizational operation impact communication satisfaction significantly. Based on these results, combined with the characteristics of the study subjects, we then put forward relevant proposals to the communication in the application software management practices.
