With the improvement of the national economy and the living standards, the surge in automobile production and sales volume brings unprecedented opportunities and challenges for automobile sales logistics(vehicle sales logistics).Car, as a special commodity with huge size and high value, needs auxiliary facilities, professional management and operators to finish the whole process of logistics activity, which includes loading and unloading, storing, packaging as well as shipping.During the process, vehicle sales logistics cost is relatively high. For example, the shipping cost accounts for 35% to 60% in the whole sales logistics cost. That means the sales logistics cost and efficiency are highly related with the profit of acompany.Distribution network design is the foundation and the most stable module in the sales logistics system, for which the key point is where to establish the distribution centers. Scientific and reasonable distribution center location can not only improve the logistics efficiency and lower the logistics cost, but also enhance the service quality and strengthen the market competitiveness for a company.First of all, this paper systematically reviews and summarizes the basic structure,distribution model and the status of the vehicle saleslogistics distribution network of Company A, and analyzes the problems which now exist in the logistics distribution network of Company A’s vehicle sales logistics.Secondly, based on the research results about the distribution center location choosing at home and abroad, and this paper selects the Baumol-Wolfe location model which effectively coordinate the problem of multi-category and multi-distribution centers, and establishes an optimized model for the distribution center network which will improve the present situation of Company A.At last, this paper uses MATLAB to conduct the model solution based on algorithm,do a comparative analysis by which the data from Company A and results of model,and come up withsome management suggestions.This paper effectively solves the problems in the vehicle sales logistics distribution network of Company A. The suggestions raised in the paper can lower the sales logistics cost, shorten the delivery time and improve the storage capacity of distribution centers. And through a numerical example,the optimized logistics distribution network has stronger resistant to demand volatility.At the same time, the research ideas and results of this paper can provide some references for the autos industry to solve such problems.
