Industrial equipments have been developing to miniaturization and intelligent directions along with the highly accelerating of industrialization process. A system of motor-driven overhead trolleys of multiple intelligent combinations based on embedded system has been designed to meet the practical demands of efficiency and cross-transporting large industrial materials and devices in this paper. This system is made up of a main controller which collects information of interface based on WinCE 6.0 embedded controlling system and an assistant controller used for controlling the other device based on the information collected by main controller through RS-485.Moreover, these two controllers can communicate with each other through RS-232.Several schemes according to the demands have been proposed in this paper and the master-slave controlling mode is selected finally after analyzing and comparing these solutions. A piece of ARM11 microprocessor S3C6410 is used as the embedded system hardware platform as well as the main controller in this master-slave controlling mode, and the application development platform is realized by the embedded system WinCE 6.0. Corresponding embedded system and controlling application is projected on basis of this master-slave controlling mode. Hardware and PCB designing of the system is then accomplished and debugged. The RS232 communication protocol between the assistant controller STM32F103RBT6 and the main controller is completed, and tested the whole system combining with part of the software by taking advantage of RS485 protocol of RTU mode of MODBUS. The prospect of this controlling system is analyzed and a vista of future is provided at last.The System of motor-driven overhead trolleys of multiple intelligent combinations which contains the hardware platform of core processor ARM11, software platform of operating system WinCE 6.0, and the assistant controller STM32F103RBT6 is designed in this paper and it achieved the purpose of cross-transporting large industrial materials and devices efficiently, and the productivity is greatly raised. This system has great market potential and many practical applications in industry control field.
