Hydraulic support is the important equipment in comprehensive mechanized coal mining working face. Its performances directly affect the whole face's efficiency. The relief valve is an important element in the hydraulic support system. Its performance which is good or bad will directly affect the reliability of the hydraulic support. This paper studies the dynamic characteristics and fluid-structure interaction characteristics of a new kind of relief valve-the two-stage overload relief valve in hydraulic support.First, the study of the object is two-stage overload relief valve in hydraulic support. Second, based on the each component of AMESim simulation model, get the dynamic characteristics of the valve. By changing the parameters of design to achieve good dynamic characteristics, obtain the influence law of different design parameters which decides the dynamic performance on the valve. Then using flow field analysis software FLUENT to analyze the flow field of the valve, get internal flow field of the valve. Finally, using the theory of fluid-structure interaction to analyze key parts of the valve, obtain the core of stress and the core of deformation.
