The Ferris wheel is one of most necessary large-scale amusement equipment in the large amusement park on over the world. As the height of Ferris wheel structure be refreshed constantly, Design of Ferris wheel structure has a higher requirement. Structure strength, stability and reliability of Ferris wheel are one of the most important factors, which must be considered when the Ferris wheel design. At present, the research work of Ferris wheel structure under the wind load mainly focused on statics analysis at home and abroad. Research on the dynamic analysis of Ferris wheel structure is relatively small. In the real environment, the influence of Ferris wheel structure under wind load is not only static, but also is dynamic. This paper analyzed dynamic characteristics under wind load, having a guiding significance for design and optimization of Ferris wheel design.Based on large flexible wheel of the height of 190 meters as the research object in the paper, through the establishment of the finite model of ANSYS, the paper made the statics analysis for Ferris wheel structure in four limit condition. Meanwhile, it analyzed dynamic characteristics of the Ferris wheel structure under the wind load.This paper studies the main contents:(1) Combined with Ferris wheel structure form, the paper completed finite element ANSYS modeling. According to the special form of Ferris wheel structure, through analytic calculation, it calculated the wind load in the four limit condition. By importing it into the finite element model, the paper made static analysis, verified the rationality of structure design.(2) Added a reasonable constraint, the paper carried out modal analysis, acquired natural frequency and vibration model, come to the conclusion that structural stiffness is small in the direction of the wind load. The designer should pay attention to increase the stiffness of the direction.(3) This paper described the theory of fluctuating wind numerical simulation. Based on MATLAB software platform, using the liner filtering method, it simulated fluctuating wind load, through importing wind load to finite element model, using full method, the paper carried dynamic analysis under the wind load in the direction of consequent wind, got wind load dynamic characteristics.(4) In the paper, the research results can provide reference for design of Ferris wheel structure especially optimization and design of local position. Meanwhile, it provided the reference for research on dynamic characteristics of Ferris wheel under the wind load.
