Thickeners are the equipments which take continuous work of thickening and clarifying. They are used for dewatering of concentrate and tailing slurry in wet-type mineral separation. Thickeners also take thickening and clarifying work on solid slurry of coal, steel, chemical industry, building material. Rakes are considered as core component of thickeners. which are the largest and heaviest part of the whole equipment. The structure type of rake will influent the sedimentation and scraping performance of material directly, and the curve shape of rake scraper will impact material scraping efficiency, with the size and weight will affect transportation and manufacturing cost. In this case, intensive study and research of rake need to be taken.Firstly, this paper shows an introduction of composition and working principle of thickeners, and expounds technology present situation and development trend of thickeners domestic and overseas. This paper puts forward a kind of low resistance take frame structure with advanced technology domestic and overseas, and makes an analysis and study on rake structure and rake scraper scraping efficiency. The low resistance rake unit not merely has simple structure and easy installation features, its limited space and convenient transportation are the development direction of rake of thickeners.Secondly, the research object as rake of thickener designed for one ore dressing plant adopts a kind of low resistance rake structure. This kind of structure could enlarge rake scraper contact surface and enhance working efficiency of the thickener and the effect of stability. The rake also deduced curve equation of rake scraper and further study instantaneous motion direction, motion track, and layout principle and installation angle during scraping process of rake scraper. During the research,3D models of two different rake are created by Solidworks. The influence of rake section shape to scraping efficiency is analyzed by ANSYS. Then, makes finite element analysis on rake shape, obtains rigidity of circular section rake better than rectangular section rake through the trend of deformation. The author calculates the rake resistance area, circular section rake owns remarkable advantages as its small resistance, light weight and easy processing features.Finally, taking the research object of low resistance rake of circular section truss structure, selects four rake dangerous working conditions to make statics analysis, and put forward reasonable improvement measures to existing structure according to the finite element analysis results. Through finite element analysis calculation, on the premise of strength met, improve the performance of the whole equipment, reduce the weight of rake effectively, then reduce the production cost, which provides reliable analysis method and reference for science and technology personnel.The study result of this paper provides theoretical support and technical guidance for the new developing products for own company, and provides theoretical basis for the design work of rake, which steps up the pace of theory study and development process of localization home-made parts thickeners.
