With modern technology and innovation, especially the rapid development of information technology, the world has undergone major changes in the manufacturing industry, the most notable feature is the competitive dominance in technology innovation highlights. With the rapid development of CAD/CAM technology, making the entire product design, virtual manufacturing and digital prototyping can be done in the computer, for the development of product design, manufacturing and the entire process of production levels of enterprises has brought a qualitative leap. Enjoy the modern conveniences but also creates a problem, it is that now designing complex assembly has become an extremely important element in the product designing process. Three-dimensional model structure is more and more complex, quantity of spare parts and its own characteristics, carried by a large amount of information, so the space that it takes up is becoming more and more huge. It takes a long time to load and display models on the computer and it is difficult to meet the real-time processing requirements. In view of this there are two ways to solve the current, first, to improve computer processing capabilities, including discovery and application of new computer material, expanding the hardware space, speed up network transmission speed, the effect of this approach is visible but there are a lot of restrictions, in most cases still cannot satisfy the real time processing requirement of the user of the system. Second is the lightweight CAD model processing, which is the focus of this article.First this article proposed a lightweight method for large complex assembly CAD model to maintain the appearance and organization of data under the same circumstances that make the file size is significantly reduced, which solve the problem effectively in the field of lightweight engineering aspects. The actual development was accorded to the guidance of the method, the assembly model lightweight system development that this article describes is in Visual Studio 2008 platform based on Pro/Toolkit of Pro/E to carry on the secondary development, this text developed with Pro/Toolkit and MFC, such as dynamic link library is introduced in detail, at the same time also to the Pro/Toolkit configuration illustrated in Visual Studio 2008.Article inventive techniques are: First, components lightweight technology. To satisfy the needs of different users, and ensure that the model geometry and topology of weight after the original design of consistency, be treated on the basis of weight. The second is based on lightweight components assembly technology. To parse and extract the assembly model topology information, according to the information of lightweight parts assembly, and eventually generate lightweight machine assembly model.System menu and interface are simple and intuitive, complete function module, and then test and optimize the function, finally complete the complex assembly three-dimensional model lightweight application development. Use this tool to more groups of test reverse validates the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed model lightweight method.Geared to the needs of large assembly model lightweight technology that provide from the product designer to final product manufacture personnel with convenient greatly, shorten time greatly witch was wasted in the production process of the machine, reduce the task difficulty in enterprise collaborative communication, can improve the efficiency of model design and enterprise benefit effectively.
