Saturation diving has been playing an important role during our nation's ocean exploration. In spite of high development of industrialization and technicalization in our nation, much risk had been exposed during the saturation diving operation because of the late start of technology research and practice in the saturation diving field, thus resulting in some accidents from time to time.As the pioneer and practitioner in the saturation diving field,Company A has built a comparatively perfect operation procedure and emergency management system. However,Company A always adopted the existing risk management procedure to identify risk and its management in the past. For particular saturation diving project,it still lacks enough analysis and evaluation of the main risk factors and risk management.Based on the risk management of the domestic and overseas saturation diving project, this article focuses on identifying five types of risk factors with the help of rich experience from Company A and its experts.By using risk management theory and analytic hierarchy process, risk management model for saturation diving project is built and risk monitoring and response strategy is put up.Taking the Y saturation diving project as an example, risk assessment was carried out.According to the risk assessment, precautionary and response measure was undertaken and its effectiveness had been evaluated, which proved that risk management theory and analytic hierarchy process is effective and reasonable in the risk management of saturation diving project. This research is aiming at providing reference for the risk management of saturation diving project in our nation.
