Compared with other crushing equipment,double toothed roller crusher is an important mining machinery with many advantages,such as low power consumption,high productivity and uniform granularity size.In order to make double toothed roller crushers' structure more reasonable and scientific,it is necessary for us to improve and optimize existing equipment.However,mining machines were developed on the basis of many experimental data,which not only needs a lot of manpower but also takes much time.Discrete element method is a new numerical modeling method.During the process of optimal design on mechanical products,such as double toothed roller crushers,a kind of simulation software EDEM based on discrete element method can effectively reduce the cost and time of scientific research,which has a profound significance in researching crushing equipment.By reviewing the relevant literatures,the application of the DEM on double toothed roller crusher was introduced.The present situation of research and the composition of double toothed roller crusher were summarized as well as the crushing theory.Then,the productive capacity and active power of double toothed roller crusher were overviewed.This paper studied the effects of structure and characteristic parameters on the performance,and provided reference for optimizing double toothed roller crusher from the strength of breaking tooth and the wear regularity.Using the discrete element method,the simulation model of double toothed roller crusher was established,and the variation of productive capacity,net power and the force of particles were obtained,which proves the correctness and accuracy of the simulation model.It summarized the result of influence of roller speed,roller center distance and spiral angle of roller tooth on productive capacity,active power and product granularity of double toothed roller crusher.The stress and strain of double toothed roller crusher was analyzed based on EDEM-Workbench coupling method,and this paper obtained the data of stress distribution and displacement.By analyzing the distribution cloud map of energy accumulation of the roll,this paper found that the main wear of the teeth tine is normal wear,while the abrasion of the tooth side is mainly caused by tangential wear.Based on the simulation analysis of double toothed roller crusher with different structural parameters and working parameters,the crushing mechanism and the effects of structure and characteristic parameters on the performance are discussed.Meanwhile the wear regularity of double toothed roller crusher was explored through the EDEM-Workbench coupling method,which has a positive effect on the social and economic benefits of the double toothed roller crusher.
