The Comparative Study Of Pearlescent Pigment Color Rendering Based On Water-soluble Varnish

Pearlescent pigments originated in twentieth Century,its color is simulated pearl,bird feathers,soap liquid and other nature of the refraction and interference light,because it can show a pearly sheen,silky texture and flashing gradient effect.So it is widely used in coatings,inks,dyes,cosmetics and other fields.The early researchings of pearl pigment focused on the formation mechanism and different substrate nuclei,different preparation methods(gas phase coating method and liquid phase deposition method has the merits of uniform)and modified,But fewer studies in the effect by the different parameters of pearlescent pigment in the varnish.By this research,comparing the color effect in different pearlescent pigment.The method is making the mixture by adding the pearlescent into the varnish,and transferred to the substrate surface.After the printing is dry,tests its main density value and chroma values.And calculates the difference between the color and color ink coating,in order to evaluate pearlescent pigment color effect.In the same printing conditions,test the different mass ratios and different particles size of pearlescent pigment,to investigate the mass ratio and particle size changing range of different influence on pearl pigment color change;research on different size of pigment color effect in roller under different screen frequency,to explore the matching relation between particle size and the roller screen line number;a comparative study of color effect on different substrates under the pearlescent pigment,to explore the best substrate carrier suitable for pearlescent pigment.The results show that the mass ratio is the main factor of the coloring effect of pearl pigment,namely content of pearlescent pigments in Waterborne Varnish in the greater pearl pigment color effect is better,to enhance the ability to cover the background.The change of particle size has little effect on the color of pigment.The use of gravure glazing,the size of the pigment and the size of the mesh line to match the number of beads,the best effect of pearlescent pigment color.When the paper is printed on different paper,the weighter the paper,the better in the color effect.The results of this study can provide some reference value for the application of pearlescent pigments in waterborne varnish.The color effect is belong to mass ratio,particle size,roller screen line number and the size of the production materials,all of this can change the effect.In order to ensure the proper effect of the pearlescentpigment,suitable pearl solution proportion and pigment particle size selection number is necessary.
