As the representation of the process fluid machinery equipment,disc refiner has been widely used in paper pulping field.The refining disc is a core components of a disc refiner.People has done many researches on the refining discs including material,manufacturing process,principle of the structure failure,arrangement of the bars and grooves,energy consumption,etc.The reasonable of designing or choosing the structure of a refining disc will directly affect the pulping disc refiner beating quality and energy efficiency.In this paper,5 different kinds of common used disc refiner refining disc were been built in the 3D modeling software called SOLIDWORKS,and simulated in the Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)method software called Flow Simulation.By only changing the bar structure of the discs,the flow velocity,flow state and the situation of the bar surface stress were simulated by the software.The simulation result shows that 5 kinds of refining disc cause different effect on the pulp,each one have advantages and disadvantages.Based on the study,A new kind of refining disc was came up.For later researchers to go further on the research,the 6 kinds of refining discs which were simulated in the CFD software were manufactured in a CNC carving machine.The specific work of this paper is as follows:(1)Summarized internal flow numerical simulation analysis of the disc refiner refining discs current situation at home and aboard,and the influencing factors with the designing theory of the refining disc.Provided the basis of computer simulation for the internal inside the refining disc,and the parameters for designing a new type of refining disc.(2)The movement mechanism of the pulp in the refining disc between bars and grooves carried on the thorough analysis from the principle of dynamics.Made clear how the pulp moves in the refining disc grooves under the complex composition of forces.Provided the basis for explaining the computersimulation results of the pulping process and the new type refining disc structure design.(3)Using the CFD software Flow Simulation and the single factor method,15% concentration of pulp was been computational simulated and analysis in the current commonly used 5 different structure type of disc refiner refining discs.The result shows different advantage and disadvantages in internal flow field velocity,flow trace and the distribution of the bar surface shear stress between the 5 different refining discs,by transverse comparison.(4)Based on the above research results,by evolution the traditional structure of the refining disc,a new type of disc refiner refining disc came up.CFD analysis was also carried on the new disc,and put the above 5 refining discs together to compare.The uniformity velocity,good stress on the bars,smoothly flows show the new type of refining disc achieved the goal of improvement.(5)With the colorless transparent organic glass,total 6 refining discs were manufactured by the the Computer-Aid Manufacturing(CAM)software ArtCAM and Mach Mill,and the Computer Numerical Control(CNC)system.Laid the foundation for using high speed camera to observe the pulping process of small experimental platform in later time.
