At present, Disc refiner is widely used in the refining and beating pulp equipment and disk mill is the core component of disc refiner. Disc refiner power consumption takes up ab out 30% of energy consumption of the pulp and paper industry. Therefore, it is necessary to study the disc refiner grinding process and disc refiner load process, analyze disk mill para meters and grinding disc space, and find the influence rule of energy consumption with disc mill space, disc mill speed, and disc mill profile parameters.In this paper, the development of disc refiner was firstly described, also the current stat us at home and abroad of refiner energy consumption was summarized, and the formula of disc refiner refining energy calculation at different concentrations was analyzed. On this ba sis, the research task was described. Then, single-disc refiner’s refining process was studied by computer simulations to analyze the relationship between the energy consumption in ref ining process and the parameters of teeth profile and the speed of disc mill.The hydrodyna mic model of refining area was established by UG software, and the refining process of disc refiner was simulated by FLUENT software. Using the method of single factor variable, th e influence rules between the energy consumption and grinding disc speed, grinding disc ga p, grinding disc teeth width, grinding disc groove width, grinding disc teeth tilt angle, grind ing disc teeth height was studied. A low energy consumption of grinding disc was obtained by analyzing the effect of influence factors using orthogonal test method and range method.Finally, the single-disc refiner was simulated under the conditions of no load, to seek the influence rules between grinding speed, grinding gap, grinding teeth parameters and energy consumption. An energy-saving grinding disc, low energy consumption, was prepared, and a small energy-efficient disk refiner was fabricated.In this article, the theoretical and methodological research provides some reference value to reduce energy consumption plate mill, choose low-power grinding, grinding optimization design.
