Research On The Relationship Between Industrial Agglomeration And Environmental Pollution

Industrial agglomeration promotes economic growth, but at the same time resulting in increased regional energy consumption, pollution emissions increased a greater impact on the ecological environment. Environmental pollution also affects industrial agglomeration to a certain extent. That is to say, there is a two-way relationship between industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution, but there are few studies on the interaction between industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution. In this paper, the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis are used to study the relationship between industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution. The research results of this paper provide an objective and reasonable basis for clarifying the relationship between industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution and evaluating the rationality of industrial agglomeration.Analysis of the status quo of industrial agglomeration level and environmental pollution shows that China's regional aggregation phenomenon is obvious, but there are regional differences: the eastern region gathered the highest level of the northeast region, followed by the central region, the western region of the lowest level of aggregation. The aggregation level in the eastern and northeastern regions showed a downward trend, and the central and western regions showed an upward trend.China's industrial waste water, solid waste emissions decreased year by year, the overall trend of exhausts emissions showed a slight decline after 2011.The industrial agglomeration and the relationship between environmental pollution and theoretical analysis shows that the impact of industrial agglomeration on environmental pollution is uncertain, industrial agglomeration can generate positive externalities to the improvement of environmental pollution, environmental pollution can also produce negative externalities, the impact of environmental pollution on industrial clusters also have uncertainty.Based on the STIRPAT model, this paper establishes a simultaneous equation model of industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution, and selects the 2003-2013 provincial panel data to empirically analyze the interaction between industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution. It is found that industrial agglomeration promotes the discharge of waste water and the emission of waste gas and solid waste.Environmental pollution promotes industrial agglomeration.Based on influence of industrial agglomeration on environmental pollution, we put forward three points to improve the industrial areas of environmental pollution policy recommendations in this paper: firstly, improve the gathering area of pollutant concentration governance mechanism, achieve economies of scale in pollution control; secondly, give full play to the aggregation area of knowledge and technology spillover effect, implementation of pollution control technology; thirdly, enhancing the strength and aggregation supervision of district environmental protection,improve the environmental protection and regulatory measures.
