With the development of the times and the progress of science, the tire industry makes great progress, but also faces more challenges. At present,bias tire and radial tire are the most widely used products in the market,there are some unavoidable defects as traditional rubber pneumatic tire,such as the flat tire, difficult pressure control, complex tire building process.Therefore, tire developers of companies and research teams at home and abroad put more energy into the research of the new type of high performance tire, the plastic tires emerge as the times require. Its advantages are small density, light weight, high strength, high safety and so on. This paper takes the full plastic non pneumatic tire as the research object, the building process, structure, materials of plastic tires are studied,which provides a research basis for development of plastic tires. Details are as follows:1. Two forming methods of 3D printing and injection molding are put forward for plastic tires, and the feasibility is analyzed. Fused deposition modeling (FDM) and selective laser sintering (SLS) are employed to prepare 3D printed tires, the precision of tires is studied. The effect of orientation in 3D printing on samples is studied and compared with injection molded ones. That results show that precision of SLS tires is higher than that of FDM, the poor mechanical properties of 3D printed tires restrict its application in plastic tires industry.2. The number of wheel spokes was optimized by numerical simulation by using ABAQUS software to achieve injection molding and improve the performance of plastic tires. The effects of the number of wheel spokes on mechanical strength, deflection and contact area are studied. That results show that the tires performances of 30 wheel spokes are better than those of pneumatic tire, respectively.3. The gate location and quantity are analyzed using moldflow software and moldflow-digimat-abaqus combined simulation in the injection system. That results show that the design of four inner gates is best considering the forming process, tires performance and so on. The advantages are less filling time, temperature distribution reasonable,minimum warpage.4. To study the effect of process parameters on the tire dimension accuracy, the single-factor method is used to study the effects of process parameters on tire warpage and optimize the molding conditions. The orthogonal analysis method is used to find the influence level of various process parameters on the tire dimension accuracy. That results show that the best design of process parameters is that cooling time is 15 seconds,packing pressure is 80% of end filling pressure, melt temperature is 285 ?,mold temperature is 80 ?. The rank by the level of the effect of the process parameters on tire warpage is packing pressure, melt temperature, cooling time, and mold temperature.5. The effect of glass fiber content and aspect ratio on tire performance is studied by moldflow-digimat-abaqus combined simulation. That results show that the maximum stress of tire and tire deflection decreases with the increase of the fiber content or the aspect ratio.
