Being currently the longest gas pipeline with the largest inner diameter in China,West-East Gas Transmission Pipeline is a system of single source and multiple branches.Its transmission distance is relatively longer than other common types of pipelines and it brings a lot of challenges for security and operation.The scale of gas transporting system is getting larger and larger,which makes it more and more difficult for staff like engineers to master the regularity of pipeline operation and management and make an accurate and sensible decision on the handling of incident.The pipeline simulation system is used to exactly and comprehensively describe the flow behavior and laws in the pipeline and to provide further guidance for the design,operation and management.What's more,it can also be used as a training program for staff such as engineers of pipeline transporting industry before taking up their posts.In this paper,based on the flow diagram of West-East gas Transmission pipeline,a simulation system is developed through software ControlForce6.0 and SPS(Stoner Pipeline Simulation),the foreground platform of which is similar to SCADA system in appearance.The foreground platform has achieved the function of dynamic display while the background engine is responsible for establishing a model of the pipeline by virtue of software SPS that can simulate all kinds of normal conditions and abnormal conditions.Critical parameters like emergence rescuing time of accidents including compressor station invalidation,closing block valves by mistake,pipeline leakage and blockage are solved.On the basis of OPC Server,the foreground SCADA system screen is linked with the background hydraulic simulation engine,achieving dynamic data interaction for relative users.Moreover,the developed system can be applied for training employees,analyzing the failure of the third West-East Gas Pipeline and calculating the change of pressure and affected time.
