Finishing mill is the core equipment of the hot tandem rolling mill,and its capability has key effect on the output and quality of the final products.Multi-stage computer control has been deployed on most modern HSM(hot strip mill),and the forecast precision of the control model of finishing mill is an important indicator of the control effectiveness.Because the modern HSM contains lots of equipments,the cost is too high for either building experimental mill or doing experiments for developing new products,thus developing a kit of simulation software which can be used offline is necessary.Such a kit of software can check the feasibility of the equipment rebuild and new products experimental rolling,it can also be used for the training of operation stuff and strength check during mechanical design.This assay's objective is developing a kit of finish rolling process simulation software which can meets the precision demand and can be used in actual work,the research work mainly focus on the temperature model and the rolling force model.During the building process of temperature model,the research work which based on the fundamental principals of heat transfer mainly study the method and quantity of heat transfer of each section.The rolling force model uses SIMS formula as prototype,and it adopts simplified fitting formula which is more suitable for computer control and simulation.In accordance with the practical situation of finish rolling process,setting methods and optimization methods of rolling schedule are studied,and eventually experience table method is adopted to initially setting of reduction schedule and aim distribution coefficient method is adopted to optimizing the schedule.Based on the theoretical analysis,Visual Basic language and structual programing method were used for developing the simulation software.During the development,vast parameters which will be used in the calculation are stored in the Access database for the call of software,so it realize the automation of reduction and speed setting,meanwhile it endows the users authority of adjusting parameters.The software was tested with parameters used in the real rolling process,the results of temperature and rolling force were compared with the actual rolling schedule and rolling force measured at site of some steel company's 1780 mm hot rolling mill,the compare result show approximately accordance and the range of error is acceptable.
