Substation is a significant part of the power supply chain for the electricpower enterprise, energy saving of substation is of great significance. In2008,International Council on Electricity Distribution,China,it is proposed that greenenvironmental protection of the Power Grid will become the main direction ofconstruction in the future. At present, it is necessary to contribute the substationwhich meet the standard of Two Patterns One Popularization.The building energy of substation is particular, which depends on thetechnological requirements of power transmission and distribution and therequirements of the room thermal environment. Lots of cold bridges result in moreenergy consumption of heating in winter than other kinds of architectures, and amass of heat dissipation of instruments cause the energy consumption of cooling insummer. It is,therefore, the key to reduce the energy of heating and cooling byadopting measures of energy saving. The energy-saving design of substationnowadays, however, being lack of the guidance of building energy-conservingstandards, is not scientific and proper through the qualitative way. Meanwhile thetechnology of computer simulation has the advantage of intuition, objectivity andprecision.The paper is unfolded by the pattern of raising question, analyzing, andsaluting. Firstly, I researched and tested the substation in cold regions to gather thedata to be used for simulation by the view of energy-saving, through which thecharacteristics of the energy consumption is analyzed and conform the content ofresearch,and abstracted the main factors including the shape coefficient of building,the window-wall ratio, building's envilop and solar radiation,which affected theenergy consumption most obviously. Secondly, through using the energysimulation software DeST-c, the research object is simulated respectively. Themost effective heat transmission coefficient and the best ventilation sc heme areobtained and conclude a series of parameters which is unique to the simulation ofsubstation. And finally, combination of the experiment data with the architecturedesign make usage of computer simulation in the field of substation energy-savingdesign in cold regions come true.
