In recent years, the automobile industry develops rapidly, but the petroleumresources has become increasingly scarce and the enviromental degradation is moreand more serious. Hybrid electric vehicle develop rapidly because of the low fuelconsumption, low emissions and good dynamic performance. Especially in hybridcity bus, it is suitable for strict in emissions of center city, so it has become a hotresearch. In this paper, studying the control strategy of hybrid electric bus andperformance simulation are the main work, by making appropriate control strategyto give full play to the advantages of hybrid buses.Hybrid electric vehicle has three major categories, this paper analyzes thestructure and the characteristics of various types firstly, and describes the operatingcharacteristics of the city bus, and then determine series hybrid electric vehicle forthe research objective. This paper study the powertrain components deeply, usingtheoretical calculation method to complete an initial parameter matching.HEV contains at last two power sources, the appropriate control strategies arebetter to take advantage of HEV. This paper analyzes the series hybrid buses energyflow pattern, and studies the thermostat control strategy and power follow controlstrategy. then it analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of these two methods. Atlast the control strategy of this article chooses a complex combination of this twostrategies. According to the control principle of the control strategy, establish itssimulation model in Simulink. Then we can study result come from Advisor withdifferent operating conditions. The simulation results obtaine that this paperdesigned the series hybrid is suitable for China typical transit buses operatingconditions, and fuel economy better than traditional cars. The result of theperformance test of the vehicle obtaine that this designing vehicles is meeting theproposed performance indicators. In this paper, simulation experiments explain thatthe control strategies of this paper used is reasonable and effective, and the powerunit chosen to match the appropriate parameters. This paper can provide theoreticalguidance for design, and can shorten the development time.
