The establishment of modern seismic design theory and formation has experienced a century of development process, as the deepening understand of seismic characteristics and structural dynamic characteristics, Structural seismic design theory by the initial static and response spectrum phase, development to the dynamic stage and the current seismic design theory based on performance. Conventional elastic analysis method cannot reflect structural elasto-plastic mechanical performance under the earthquake action, so structure nonlinear elasto-plastic analysis related theory research gradually caused the attention of the scientific research workers.As one of the important methods of seismic performance analysis, pushover analysis combined nonlinear static calculation results with elastic response spectrum, under seismic action and the dynamic response characteristics for evaluation, but it can only approximate expression of dynamic response; elastic-plastic time history ananlysis can directly reflect seismic action feature a more general and reliable analysis method, is aimed at through the project example of the elastic-plastic analysis, further analysis was applied to the engineering practice.In this paper, with a transfinite high-rise frame-shear wall structure background of practical engineering, application of three dimensional nonlinear analysis software Perform-3D to structural pushover analyses and dynamic elastic-plastic time history analysis under severe earthquake. Through the pushover analysis, judgment and conclusion structural performance points, analyze the location of performance point; Comparison of performance point of base shear, top displacement, and story drift angle with the calculation results of PKPM. Analysis of structural elastic-plastic time history in severe earthquake, with three set of seismic records, two-way input and rotation input principal direction in a total of six operating conditions. For quantitative solution of structural nonlinear performance under the action of the design of severe earthquake, investigating the overall response and deformation of the structure, plastic and performance targets of components, and the elastic-plastic behavior of overall structure, Specific research indexes including the maximum top displacement, story displacement and the maximum base shear, etc, verify the structural fortification level indicator under seismic design of "strong earthquake to fail". Present analysis of structural energy response at the same time, analysis of structural energy dissipation, argument of structural seismic performance in the design under severe earthquake. Comparison of dynamic elastic-plastic time history analysis between Perform-3D results and the analysis results of ABAQUS; in addition, assisted by pushover analysis for reference, comparison of the analysis results between pushover analyses and elastic-plastic time history analysis results, verify the suitability of the selected application by analyzing the contrast results, and the reliability of the calculation results. According to the above research results, evaluation of the structure of the seismic performance, and puts forward improvement opinions and Suggestions for structure design.
