The fundamental task of the power system is to provide adequate, reliable and qualified power to the various departments of the national economy and power users. For the operation of power grid, power system full stop accident happens rarely, if for some reason and fault cause the entire power system outage, the lack of a complete set startup program in the recovery of local or the entire power supply, will delays in resuming the normal operation of power grid, and will cause a huge loss of national economy and the people's life and property. If after the outage of the power system, taking black start measure for the power system can greatly reduce the outage time, and restore the normal operation of grid as soon as possible. Therefore, it is necessary to make research on the problem of system restoration after blackout and formulate feasible black start scheme for all levels of grid.In this paper, combined with the actual situation of the power grid of Ganxi, according to the basic principles of selection of black start path, the black start scheme for the power grid is made, a series of theoretical calculation and simulation analysis which include overvoltage calculation, calculation of generator self excitation in the possibility, calculation of black start test of small power system stability theory, the voltage and frequency calibration and other aspects of Xinyu thermal power plant auxiliary starting are carried out for the black start test in Ganxi power grid, and dives deep into the whole process of black start test of the goal of grid "Jiangkou hydropower plant ?Xinyu hydropower plant", thus demonstrating the feasibility of the Ganxi power grid black start scheme from theory and practice.
