The building is energy saving or not, have been directly related to the status of China's energy supply and demand, and will directly affect the climate change and sustainable development of our country. In order to allow the wall to achieve the purpose of self-insulation, we summarize the characteristics of reinforced masonry,we proposed the self-insulation reinforecd masonry system, which can in need applied to the load-bearing walls. And we conducted some experimental and theoretical study of this architecture system.In the actural project engineering construction, the blocks will be slotted to make it convenient to place steel bar in them. So, compared to ordinary grouted masonry,the mechanical properties of the grouted slotted block masonry was more realistic.However, the most of scholars have just studied the performance of normal block masonry.In this thesis, we will study the effects of self-insulation blocks and slotted blocks may bring on the mechanical properties of grouted block masonry.15 compressive specimens of 5 groups were tested to investigate the cracking resistant load, ultimate load, failure modes and deformation capacity of the grouted slotted self-insulation block masonry. And 18 shear specimens of 6groups were tested to study the shear performance of the grouted slotted self-insulation block masonry.Consider the additional insulation we proposed two computational model. One is ignore the influence of the additional insulation, consider the insulation block as normal block. And the other one is consider the whole section including the additional insulation as the force area. According to the results of the two models, we found that the model two is more realistic. But in order to simplify the calculation process, it will be feasible to take the first calculation method.By compressive tests on specimens, the whole stress-strain curve was regressed and the value of elastic modulus of the grouted slotted self-insulation block masonry was proposed.It was shown that the shear strength of the grouted slotted self-insulation block masonry was moderately higher than ordinary grouted masonry. We think that the reasons of this phenomenon is because slotted block made the concrete core columns between different block can work together to bear load.Based on shear mechanism of concrete block masonry and the main factors influencing the shear strength,we proposed two computational model. The calculation formula of shear strength was forwarded by the Hoffman theory and modifying the calculation formula in the Code for Design of Masonry Structures. According to the results of the two models, we found that the model two is more realistic. But in order to simplify the calculation process, it will be feasible to take the first calculation method.Both integral and separate finite element analysis model were set up to study the performance of the grouted slotted self-insulation block masonry. The result showed that the the calculation formula of compressive strength and shear strength we found in this thesis can coincide with the actual situation well. And both the stress-strain curve and the value of elastic modulus we proposed can be used to analysis the grouted slotted self-insulation block masonry system.
